BRUNTSFIELD LINKS GOLFING SOCIETY
Bruntsfield is a prestigious Golf Club in North Edinburgh and the fifth oldest club in the world, founded in 1761. The course at Barnton Gate was originally laid out in 1897 by Willie Park, Jnr., the founder of golf course architecture. Reconstruction work has since been carried out by Dr Alistair MacKenzie (1922) and Fred Hawtree (1972-74). In 2005, Soulsby Golf Design was invited to assess the safety margins on the course and the impact of improved technology. The suggested measures to address both these issues are currently being implemented.
WHITECRAIGS GOLF COURSE, SCOTLAND
Soulsby Golf Design was invited to propose changes to address an emerging safety issue with the second hole at Whitecraigs in Glasgow. The proposal was accepted by the committee and is awaiting implementation.
CASTLE DOUGLAS GOLF COURSE, SCOTLAND
Soulsby Golf Design was commissioned to complete a course report for Castle Douglas Golf Course and reported to the committee in September 2009.
